NATIONWIDE LAMINATING ADDS WIRE-O BINDING TO CAPABILTIES
With New Machine, Area Print Finisher Expands Mechanical Binding Services
Lorton, Va. - Nationwide Laminating, a leading print finisher in the mid-Atlantic, added Wire-O binding capabilities in January 2005. The Lorton-based post-press provider increases mechanical binding services for the second time this year after purchasing a Kugler Automatic Punching Machine to open the year.
Sometimes called 'double loop' binding, Wire-O binding is produced by closing pairs of pre-formed loops down the spine of a book. One of the most versatile binding styles available, Wire-O binding allows books to lay flat and be turned 360 degrees on any page. Like other mechanical binding styles, it allows designers to mix stocks of a variety of thicknesses and finishes.
The Wire-O binding system, when partnered with the Kugler automatic punching system, increases efficiency and turnaround, according to Brian Hills, President of Nationwide Laminating.
